Creator Reward Terms

Prizes on PlayPad are pre-funded promotional rewards held in on-chain escrow — never wagers. Here's exactly how that works.

Template — review with counsel. This is a plain-English starting point written for how PlayPad actually works. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer. Placeholders in [brackets] must be completed by the operator before launch.

Who these terms are for

These terms apply to anyone who launches a project on PlayPad or configures a prize for a round (“you”, the creator). You accept them when you launch, and they apply in addition to the Terms of Use. They exist so that every prize advertised on PlayPad is real, funded and paid fairly.

Rewards are promotional and pre-funded

A prize on PlayPad is a promotional reward that you fund yourself. For each round with a prize you deposit the exact asset and exact amount into PlayPad's round treasury contract (an on-chain escrow, one allocation per round) from your own wallet.

  • A round can only advertise its prize after our server has read your funding transaction on-chain and verified the round, asset, amount and escrow. Until then it shows “Awaiting funding”.
  • Funded prizes appear with FUNDED ✓. You can't show a prize you haven't funded, and you must not describe unfunded rewards anywhere as if they were.
  • Prize assets are USDG (on Robinhood Chain) or your project's own token. Fee-on-transfer tokens are rejected by the escrow.

No wagering

Players never pay a stake to enter. You may not sell entries, charge for entry, ask players to send you funds, or describe a round as a bet, lottery or investment. Rounds may use these entry rules: open to everyone, holding a minimum balance of your token, an allowlist, or a project-specific mix of those.

Counsel review point: in some jurisdictions a holding requirement can be treated like a purchase requirement for a promotional competition. Where that applies, offer a free alternative way to enter (for example an allowlist) and publish official rules.

Who can win

PlayPad enforces platform eligibility on its servers: winners must be at least 18, not in a restricted region (currently North Korea (KP), Iran (IR), Syria (SY), Cuba (CU) and Russia (RU)), and not banned. You may make your own rounds stricter before they lock, but you can't exclude a winner after the result is signed.

How the prize is split

You choose a distribution for each round. Shares are computed by the server from the signed standings:

DistributionSplit of the prize pool
Winner takes all#1 100%
Top 3#1 50% · #2 30% · #3 20%
Top 10#1 25% · #2 18% · #3 13% · #4 10% · #5 8% · #6 7% · #7 6% · #8 5% · #9 4% · #10 4%
Split poolEqual share for every ranked player
  • Players tied on a place share the slots they occupy equally.
  • If fewer players finish than there are paid places, the used places are re-weighted to 100%.
  • Rounding dust goes to the best-placed winner, so the full pool is always paid.
  • If PlayPad charges a reward distribution fee, it is a percentage snapshotted on-chain when you fund the round and shown to you before you confirm. Fee + prizes always equals exactly what you deposited.

Payouts

  • When a round ends, our game server signs the result. Anyone can relay it to the escrow contract; PlayPad's payout service does this automatically.
  • Before paying, the payout service re-checks the round, the on-chain funding, the winners (they must be entrants of the round) and the signature.
  • Each round pays exactly once: the escrow marks the round settled before transferring, and payouts are keyed to the round (PLAYPAD_PAYOUT_<roundId>). A second payout is rejected.
  • Prizes go straight from escrow to the winners' wallets. Transactions are public on the chain's explorer and linked from the round's fair-play page.

Cancellations and refunds

  • If a funded round is cancelled (not enough players, or you cancel before it locks) or voided (server failure), the full deposit is refunded to the funding wallet via a signed cancellation.
  • Every funded round also has a refund date between 1 and 365 days after funding. If the round is still unsettled after that date, you can reclaim the deposit yourself from your Treasury page.
  • A round that has been settled cannot be refunded.

Your responsibilities

  • Fund prizes only with assets you lawfully own and are allowed to give away.
  • Comply with the promotion, contest and sweepstakes laws, tax rules and reporting duties that apply to you and your audience.
  • Describe your project, token and rounds accurately — no promises of profit, no fake prizes, no fake activity.
  • Keep your funding wallet secure. PlayPad cannot move funds out of your wallet and cannot recover keys.

What PlayPad does and doesn't do

PlayPad provides the escrow contract, result signing and payout relaying. We don't take custody of prizes outside the escrow contract, we don't guarantee the value of prizes paid in your token, and we don't provide legal or tax advice. We may hide or cancel rounds that break these terms; funded prizes on cancelled rounds are refunded as described above.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes apply to rounds funded after the update; rounds already funded keep the terms (including the fee) that applied when they were funded. Questions: [creator support email].
